Today we added a few more features to the parser library that make it really useful. By adding a couple of simple extension methods to our parser type, we enabled the elegant new LINQ syntax using from and select that saves us from uglier code with Then and Return. By generalizing away from the fixed token type char, we made it possible to hook up our parsers to external scanners that yield a stream of tokens. And we saw that we can still use the library to build a scanner, too, and chain both the scanner and the parser acer batby27l battery together into one parser that goes directly from characters to results.
